Dr Andrew Leech is a GP working in the southern suburbs of Perth, Australia. He has always had an interest in kids healthcare and wanted to develop this initiative to help parents find resources beyond the everyday consultation room. There is not enough time to cover everything in 15 minutes, therefore further education online is another way of enhancing your understanding of what might be happening for your child. Andrew has completed the RACGP, the child health diploma, a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery and a Bachelor of Science.
He features on Parent TV and has worked on a number of projects with the Emerging Minds group. He has presented in webinars to health professionals as part of the mental health practitioners network. He works at two medical schools helping to teach the medical students. He recently won the award for compassion and health practitioners award from the health consumers council of WA.
The Kids Health Network podcast blends the minds and hearts of a GP and a parent who is genuinely passionate about supporting parents in this sometimes confusing parenting journey! As Andrew carefully crafts questions for guests to help answer parents concerns, he also generously shares his clinical wisdom. I love the practical advice and tips in these wide range of topics. I have no hesitation to recommend to parents that I work with. A must-have in any parents podcast list.
